Endocrinology

Types of Endocrine diseases

Focused on the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders is endocrinology. These are divided into the following three categories:

Tumors

Problems with hormone balance can result from gland tumors, whether they are malignant or benign.

Gland hypersecretion

Happens when a gland secretes an excessive amount of the hormone it is intended to produce.

Gland hyposecretion

Diseases brought on by the glands secreting too little of a certain hormone, causing the body to lack that hormone. Each of these circumstances leads to a sickness that affects the body's general health and function.

The role of the Endocrinologist

What is the Endocrine system?

The endocrine system is the foundation for comprehending the work of an endocrinologist. The endocrine system consists of a network of glands responsible for the production and secretion of hormones. These regulate a wide variety of bodily functions, such as:

Respiration

Metabolism

Reproduction

Sensory perception

Sexual development

Movement

Growth

Glands create hormones, which are then transported by the blood to the body’s numerous tissues. To instruct those tissues on what to do, they transmit signals to them. Diseases that can have an impact on many facets of life emerge when the glands do not release the appropriate amount of hormones.
